Rocks, rocks, and more rocks~Nature Notes~030911

If you love rocks, Joshua Tree National Park is the place to go! Every time we visit the park, we see rock climbers. We're too old and creaky to climb rocks, so we just take their photos! :-) There are so many different rocks at Joshua Tree, we still haven't seen them all! And, aren't they beautiful against a blue sky? The little hawk was sitting one morning, looking for his breakfast! Nature Notes for March 9, 2011. Oh, I agree with you! Those rocks are fantastic but I wouldn't want to do much climbing on them. The first one I touched cut my hand; I had no idea a rock so smooth looking could be so vicious. The hawk is a pretty one; how lucky to spot him!

The rocks and boulders in the southwest are really something aren't they?

I can't even believe sometimes how much of this stuff is just out there and some are HUGE!
