Footprints in the sand at Joshua Tree~Nature Notes

We last visited Joshua Tree National Park in January. A storm is moving into the Coachella Valley and snow is forecast down to 4,500 feet, so the park may get snow this weekend. I love to look for prints in the sandy washes. I try to figure out what went on during the previous night! Nature Notes for February 17, 2011.

Hard to imagine that this area gets snow. Your bottom photo is so pretty. I can imagine it must be fun to study the tracks.

The desert is ALIVE even though so many think it is dead...they are SO wrong!

Joshua Tree sounds like a delightful place to spend quality time with your camera! The desert looks inviting to me. :)

Nice pics! I have relatives coming from the East to visit NTNP this weekend... really looking forward to showing them the sights! With any luck, should get some good photos.
