Deserts and Beyond

Deserts and beyond...places in and around the southern California deserts and beyond. Photo taken at Canyon Lake, in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona, December 2011. A few minutes later, after the sun disappeared, these cliffs were their normal color. They were only golden for a short time and I'm glad we were able to view them in their glory.

"W" ~ABC Wednesday 062310

"W" is for wagon and this wagon is in Lone Pine, CA. It is right outside the Mt. WHITNEY Cafe, our favorite eating place in Lone Pine! It looks like it has seen better days! And, yes, that is Mt. WHITNEY in the background. I was actually focusing on the lone cottonwood tree in the Alabama Hills, but who can ignore the Sierras? ABC Wednesday for June 23, 2010.

Exactly...who could ignore that beautiful eastern side of the Sierras! That is a VERY beautiful shot, especially when enlarged!

That wagon makes for a great picture. Looks like it might fall apart in a gust of wind.

Been there but too long ago to remember more than a nickle cup of coffee anywhere else in America was fifty cents in Palm Springs.
