A few minutes later, after the sun disappeared, these cliffs were their normal color. They were only golden for a short time and I'm glad we were able to view them in their glory.

"T"~~Sunday Stills Challenge 112909
"T" is for tufa. This is at the south tufa area of Mono Lake, CA. It is sedimentary rock. We arrived there late in the afternoon and the sky was dotted with thunderstorms. Sunday Stills Challenge for November 29, 2009.
Beautiful shot! We were there this past summer (july) but we didn't get this close to the tufa area. These are amazing shots with the ominous sky and incredible light! Beautiful!
