A whole and a part~Pioneertown~Sunday stills Challenge~031112

Hubby and I headed out toward Joshua Tree National Park yesterday.  He wanted to purchase his $10 LIFETIME park pass and I was eager to get out after lying around on the couch the entire previous day due to my swollen knee.  I wanted to drive out through Pioneertown, which is off the road before Joshua Tree.  Since, for us, it is on the way to the park, we decided to drive through it first.  We've never really stopped to investigate the old town there and yesterday and COLD and WINDY!  The little old town really is quite charming.  There are all kinds of little shops and a motel nearby (how convenient!).  I was intrigued by this wall and I got up close to it for the "part" shot, which was a brick. Sunday Stills Challenge for March 11, 2012. Here's the link to SSC:  http://sundaystills.wordpress.com/

We've been to Joshua Tree 6 times, but didn't know about Pioneer Town. Gotta go again ;>)

Good pictures and hope your knee is better.

I liked Pioneer Town as it's not huge and has a friendly feeling.

I like the unusual structure of the window and the warm color of the brick. I'm so used to seeing darker red brick.
