Tour de Palm Springs bicyclists

I was out taking photos yesterday morning after I fed the ducks at the park.  I didn't realize it, but I was on the path for the Palm Springs tour!  After the first few bicyclists whizzed by, I looked down the road (it was downhill at this point) so see HUNDREDS of other ones behind them!  So, I continued out Dillon Road, back to Thousand Palms Canyon road and saw literally hundreds of bicyclists!  Some whizzed by me so quickly they didn't even look up.  Others did and some actually waved!  A few bicyclists had problems, so the cars following them were there to assist.  Somebody lost a water bottle and a few chains were broken...I may drive back that way this morning because I wanted to get some photos of the hills along the San Andreas fault.  However, you can see that I got distracted!  I just looked up the info on the race and these riders were on the 56 MILE portion of it!  No, not the 5 mile, the 10 mile, or the 25 mile, but the 56 mile portion!  And, there is another one...the 100 mile one!
