Independence Day~Pulling My Mask Off~070911
July 4 found hubby and I on the road, driving home from Mammoth Lakes to Palm Desert. Along the way, we stopped at the visitors' center in Lone Pine, CA. Thunderheads were developing over the southern Sierra, including Mt. Whitney, and they accompanied us the entire way home. In fact, our desert was so muggy and full of humidity that our city was concerned they might not have their July 4th fireworks. We arrived home about 3:30 p.m., ate dinner with our daughter and her family, and drove home just in time for the fireworks to start. Unfortunately, after our long drive and day, we konked out and missed them! Independence Day, "Pulling My Mask off" for July 9, 2011.
