Pretty picture Saturday

I just decided to post a pretty picture today.  No rambling, just a photo (see I'm already rambling!)...  This is the old church ruins at San Juan Capistrano.  I wonder what the mission was like after the earthquake and the single priest was living there.  Did he have a cat or dog to keep him company?  Remember, the beautiful gardens weren't there either and the beautiful little chapel was used for storing hay!  There wasn't anybody else in the mission at that time...

Might be kind of creepy being there alone.

I heard that during the earthquake the priest and his associates were able to get out of the building through a door behind the altar. The rest of the congregation weren't so lucky. The survivors immediately got the idea that the 'white man's God' was evil and wanted no further part in Christianity for a long time there after. The church had only recently been completed when the earthquake occurred - first service perhaps??? Can't quite remember...

In Malaysiam people go to worship in a very big cave.
How big is your church in the hole?
