Deserts and Beyond
Deserts and beyond...places in and around the southern California deserts and beyond. Photo taken at Canyon Lake, in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona, December 2011. A few minutes later, after the sun disappeared, these cliffs were their normal color. They were only golden for a short time and I'm glad we were able to view them in their glory.

Desert homesteads near Pioneertown
We drove by these two homesteads (or, what's left of them) on the way to Pioneertown last weekend. The desert is full of such homesteads. Some make it, while others, like these, do not. Hey, the top one is FOR SALE! Any takers? It's got a great view of...the desert!

seems to be a lot of those little places scattered in the desert.
Somebody's dream.
Many of the abandoned homesteads I find out near 29 Palms aren't for sale, and you can't even figure out who owns them! But like yours here, the locations are often beautiful and secluded. Nice post!
