Desert Sunset~SkyWatch Friday~090911

Sometimes you don't have to go far to see a beautiful sunset, like this one here in the desert last week.  I simply walked outside and snapped this.  SkyWatch Friday for September 9, 2011.  To see SkyWatch Friday, please go to:  http://skyley.blogspot.com/

You live in a beautiful part of the world - I'm glad you take your pictures so we can all come along.

There certainly is something to be said for being in the right place at exactly the right moment! This is great--and the palms make it look like ancient Egypt.

Thanks, guys! However, when it was 113 degrees here yesterday and we were in the middle of the power outage, it wasn't very pretty. I was in our daughter's house with our grandson, NO air conditioning, NO ice, NO fans...I nearly passed out! I managed to keep him hydrated and we washed his hands a LOT and I wiped his little face (he's 2 1/2)...but I was getting lethargic and dizzy. Fortunately, electricity came on in our son's house and so I was able to drive over there and drop the munchkin off with dada and mommie!!!

I love these kind of skies and you've captured it well.
Orange-pink! The BEST.

A gorgeous sunset. Sounds like you were really suffering in that heat, glad you were able to get through it OK. You could do with installing an emergency generator for times like that I think.
