Deserts and Beyond

Deserts and beyond...places in and around the southern California deserts and beyond. Photo taken at Canyon Lake, in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona, December 2011. A few minutes later, after the sun disappeared, these cliffs were their normal color. They were only golden for a short time and I'm glad we were able to view them in their glory.

Sierra views~Our World Tuesday~092011

Can you see why we so love the Sierra?  ...sigh...Unfortunately, we both have to go back to work tomorrow.  We spent 3 days in the Sierra, from Lone Pine (these photos) to June Lake and Silver Lake, which I'll post later this week.  We went looking for fall colors, didn't find any yet, but instead we found these beautiful, incredible views.  Our World Tuesday for September 20, 2011. Absolutely Amazing!

Come to the North Rim in about a week for the golden aspen. They are barely starting to turn, but the nights are getting colder.
