Deserts and Beyond

Deserts and beyond...places in and around the southern California deserts and beyond. Photo taken at Canyon Lake, in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona, December 2011. A few minutes later, after the sun disappeared, these cliffs were their normal color. They were only golden for a short time and I'm glad we were able to view them in their glory.

More flamingo photos!

Sometimes I just have no ideas for posting, so when hubby went out with his camera this week, he came back with these photos of the flamingos at the Desert Springs Marriott.  I've been so busy with school that I haven't seen my horses in nearly two weeks.  And, this weekend, we are heading back to the Sierra for a change of pace and scenery.  So, enjoy these colorful birds!  Aren't their feathers interesting?

First off, great pics!!!! I feel the same way sometimes. It's nice to have others sometimes make the shots....a fresh perspective. The flamingos are beautiful. Look forward to your upcoming excursions to somewhere new:)

They are interesting creatures. just love their salmon, pinky, peach color. So neat that you were able to get up close and personal with them.
