Deserts and Beyond

Deserts and beyond...places in and around the southern California deserts and beyond. Photo taken at Canyon Lake, in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona, December 2011. A few minutes later, after the sun disappeared, these cliffs were their normal color. They were only golden for a short time and I'm glad we were able to view them in their glory.

Fog and Fence for Friday's Fences~020113

When I drove through our local foothills last weekend, the entire desert and mountain area was covered with low clouds, like these.  I thought the fog made the fence appear more interesting...what do you think?  Kinda neat, huh?  We don't often get fog like this in our desert. Conditions have to be just right.  It has to be a tropical storm, coming up from Mexico, not one coming from the Pacific Ocean to the west.  The clouds just don't make it up and over our 10,000 foot mountains!  Friday's Fences for February 1, 2013.  To visit Friday's Fences, please go to:    http://lifeaccordingtojanandjer.blogspot.com/

This turned out great. That fence just jumps out of the picture.

Beautiful view...and yes, the fog does make the fence jump out of the picture.
