Deserts and Beyond

Deserts and beyond...places in and around the southern California deserts and beyond. Photo taken at Canyon Lake, in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona, December 2011. A few minutes later, after the sun disappeared, these cliffs were their normal color. They were only golden for a short time and I'm glad we were able to view them in their glory.

View from Vista Point

I took this photo last Sunday at Vista Point, up Highway 74, when the wind was gusting! I opened my car door and it nearly blew off! No, really! The winds were that bad! Our front fence toppled over and hubby is in the process of repairing it, since my sunflowers are right up against it! I like the pretty pastels colors of the sunset. Scenic Sunday for March 29, 2009.

It's such a peaceful and tranquil scene that it's hard to imagine that the winds were howling so strongly. Well, it made for a good photo in any case!

Beautiful sunset! The low clouds visible against the back mountains are great.

What a magnificent vista! Perfect for SS! But I think I'd be scared to be on a hilltop with such strong winds ;)
