Deserts and Beyond

Deserts and beyond...places in and around the southern California deserts and beyond. Photo taken at Canyon Lake, in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona, December 2011. A few minutes later, after the sun disappeared, these cliffs were their normal color. They were only golden for a short time and I'm glad we were able to view them in their glory.

desert hills and moon~SkyWatch Friday, March 13, 2009

There is a transition zone in our local mountains between the higher elevations and our desert floor. Pinyon seems to be that area. We stopped at the overlook there last weekend and I noticed the full moon hanging in the sky. I liked the afternoon shadows and the late afternoon sunlight. SkyWatch Friday for March 13, 2009.

Hasn't the moon been spectacular these last few days. Lovely, peaceful composition on this. I like how the mountains are slightly spotted with cloud shadows, yet you can't see any clouds. Enjoy SWF

Love the daytime moon shots, the browns look great against the clear blue sky:)
