"A" is for acacia~ABC Wednesday 012010

Once warm weather arrives, our sweet acacia trees in our yard burst into bloom! The blossoms have a very sweet smell, hence their name! A tiny bird likes to visit them, I'm sure to get the nectar. We have several of them that have naturalized on their own and now have about a dozen growing in our yard. The ones on the west provide a nice shade canopy for us in the summer. ABC Wednesday for January 20, 2010.

I am very familiar with Acacia tree. The Spaniards was the one who planted it when they colonized our country Philippines for 3 centuries. Some are still standing and some are gone. But I remember them too well because we used to play hide and seek but never dared to climbed up the tree it's just too huge for us little kids then. ^_^ Thanks for sharing this one.

Do these turn to the yellow carpet we walk on? It is so delicate!

Beautiful trees - a lovely splash of colour in the garden.

Also love the Native American music in the background. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely! Acacia trees are not native here, but I may have seen these in bloom in Arizona before. What a lovely display of yellow blooms--spring can't come soon enough for me!

That does look pretty - and to have a sweet scent is a bonus!
