Lynx Lake, Prescott ~040312
Hubby and I drove out to Lynx Lake this morning about 10:00. We got a late start (unfortunately). I like to skip breakfast, get dressed and go, but hubby was having issues at work and had to stay on the cell phone to resolve them...sigh...Anyway, neither one of us had ever seen Lynx Lake before. It's on a side road near Prescott (the road is actually right across from the Residence Inn where we are staying!). We drove all the way down the road and turned around and then came back to view the south view and the north view of the lake. We really liked the south view. We saw white ducks there and a goose, as well as other ducks and a few cormorants. The water level was very low because Prescott, too, is having a mild winter. There were picnic tables at the two exits and I wanted to buy some sandwiches and return there toward evening...maybe another night.

Aspen and snow~Scenic Sunday 111611
Oh, gosh! I didn't realize that I hadn't posted for several days and all of a sudden, it's SUNDAY! Where did the time go? Hubby and I decided to drive over to Arizona for the weekend, since he is off work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and I have a 3 day weekend from school. So, we packed up the XTerra and off we went to the Desert Ridge Villas near Scottsdale. During breakfast, hubby said, "Let's go out to Taleisen West and take some photos," so off we went. Then he remarked that we should drive up to Payson and "maybe" drive up to the Mogollon Rim and then see how much snow was there...it turns out that there was a LOT of snow up on the rim. We stopped at our favorite aspen road and since the road was open and plowed, we drove down it. I'm glad we did! We found another grove of aspen in the snow and we stopped to photograph them against the white background. Today was just a case of "let's just GET IN THE CAR AND GO!" We really didn't have a plan or an agenda, we just WENT! I'm glad we did! :-) Scenic Sunday for January 16, 2011.

Bill Williams River near the Colorado River~Weekend Reflections 110610
Hubby and I stopped above Lake Havasu City yesterday afternoon to view the Bill Williams River. It is part of a wildlife refuge and there were 9 kayakers going up the river quietly. It was very peaceful there and we could hear a lot of birds down in the marshes. What a great view and a great place to enjoy! I like how the mountains were reflected in the one photo and how the clouds were reflected in the others. Weekend Reflections for November 6, 2010.
