Deserts and Beyond

Deserts and beyond...places in and around the southern California deserts and beyond. Photo taken at Canyon Lake, in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona, December 2011. A few minutes later, after the sun disappeared, these cliffs were their normal color. They were only golden for a short time and I'm glad we were able to view them in their glory.

Eisenhower Peak~That's My World 090809

Eisenhower Peak can be reached through the outer trail of the Living Desert trail system. I hiked it once, years ago, with a hiking group (Ahhhhh....in my "younger" years!). But, on occasion, I still take the inner loop, which is about a 35 minute walk at the LDR. I can tell that fall is coming...our mornings are getting cooler, the days are getting shorter...the temperatures are dropping. Only 102 degrees today! That's My World for Tuesday, September 8, 2009.

Ohhhh...my husband and I like to hike in the Palm Springs/Palm Desert area. We really enjoyed the Palm Canyon trails last winter and looking forward to exploring more this winter. We will look this trail up and give it a try! Thanks for the beautiful post!
