After the rain stopped yesterday, I drove out Thousand Palms Road to visit the Coachella Valley Preserve. Can you believe that I've lived here 33 years and I have never visited it? I've also never been up the tram to the top of Mt. San Jacinto! MY BAD! Anyway, this palm oasis is at the base of the Indio Hills, right along the San Andreas fault line. Enjoy your Sunday! Scenic Sunday for February 8, 2009

What a deserty-looking scene. I love the oasis with all the palm trees clustered together. I'm wondering if there are lots of hiking trails at this preserve; it looks like it would be an interesting place to explore - as long as it's not too hot!. Enjoy SS.
Beautiful Picture. The desert is a special place in my heart. Totally different from where I live and so therefore so nice to see. Thanks,
Allison
what a gorgeous place! love your header picture too. Check out my Scenic Sunday here and thanks.
Those palms look like something from another country, but I really like this shot - and with the mountains in the background - Ahh I love it!
Oh you have to go on the tram to Mt. San Jacinto! I was there last summer!
BTW nice photo!
Check out my scene here
I used to take the tram up on my Birthday. The desert isn't popular the last day of June but up the mountain it's comfortable
