Deserts and Beyond

Deserts and beyond...places in and around the southern California deserts and beyond. Photo taken at Canyon Lake, in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona, December 2011. A few minutes later, after the sun disappeared, these cliffs were their normal color. They were only golden for a short time and I'm glad we were able to view them in their glory.

"People"~Sunday stills Challenge 071711

...sigh...people? In my photos? No way! This is a VERY difficult challenge for me this week. I avoid taking photos of people whenever possible. I don't WANT people in my photos! I take landscape photos! That means no telephone poles, no power lines, and no people. PERIOD. So, I had to go back through my archives, back to 2010 to find these! The bottom photo is one of the Black Bear Diners. Next up is Costeaux Bakery in Healdsburg, CA. Then, that's a photo of our grandson and son-in-law and Ben's mom, all at the piano. Finally, that's our son in Yosemite National Park. There. I've done it...people! :-) Out of the 200 photos in that folder, there were only these 4 photos of people. Sunday stills Challenge for July 17, 2011.

there seems to be many of us who don't like people in our photos!!
that last one in the diner is an interesting 'snapshot in time', though and definitely calls out for people to be included. I tried getting some patio shots, but no-one seemed to be around yesterday!

lol! About people in photos. I'm the same way....unless they are MY people. :)

I like the second photo. Captures a special moment. :)

I love the piano shot - that is so darling! I'm just the opposite, as I can't wait to take pics of the grandkids. Then horses would be my next subject! lol
