Deserts and Beyond

Deserts and beyond...places in and around the southern California deserts and beyond. Photo taken at Canyon Lake, in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona, December 2011. A few minutes later, after the sun disappeared, these cliffs were their normal color. They were only golden for a short time and I'm glad we were able to view them in their glory.

Watery Wednesday for January 28, 2009

This pretty fountain is at Marriott's Shadow Ridge. They don't always turn on their fountains, but they seem to have them on in the mornings. I stopped there one Saturday morning to take this picture. For other Watery Wednesday photos, please visit: http://waterywednesday.blogspot.com/

Great fountain and you got a great shot of it.
I can almost hear it... :-)

What an interesting fountain! I have never seen anything like it. If there is an on/off switch, maybe only the morning person likes to see the fountain running, and the others turn it off.
Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful fountain picture! I love how the light colored dry rocks contrast with the darker wet ones.

That is a nice fountain. I like how you captured the sun shining on parts of the rock and the palms in the background really frame it nicely. Happy WW.

That is a realistic looking display of falling water. I assume it is fabricated but it looks nice anyway.
