Deserts and Beyond

Deserts and beyond...places in and around the southern California deserts and beyond. Photo taken at Canyon Lake, in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona, December 2011. A few minutes later, after the sun disappeared, these cliffs were their normal color. They were only golden for a short time and I'm glad we were able to view them in their glory.

A reminder of winter~~SkyWatch Friday, July 24, 2009

While we are baking and MELTING in our desert heat this month, I thought I would post this photo from a winter not too many years ago. I guess we all yearn for winter during summer and for summer during winter! That is Mt. San Jacinto, near Palm Springs, CA. SkyWatch Friday for July 24, 2009.

LOL! Sometimes we do yearn for things we don't have at the moment. We want the warmth of summer when it's too cold and vice versa.

This is a fabulous photo. The mountain looks majestic/imposing and beautiful at the same time.

Incredible. The clouds, the snow-capped mountains, the windmills - there is just so much to study.

A beautiful shot...taken in cooler days, no doubt. Thanks for the virtual air conditioning.
