Thermal vineyard

Instead of driving home yesterday on the freeway, I went my old route, which is near the vineyards in Thermal. This vineyard was irrigating the vines. It was eerily quiet there except for the gurgling of the water. Very peaceful. A nice way to end the work week, don't you think?

This is looking out at Monterey Drive and Country Club, from the new medical office building on the corner. It's a very pretty building.

Watery Wednesday for January 28, 2009

This pretty fountain is at Marriott's Shadow Ridge. They don't always turn on their fountains, but they seem to have them on in the mornings. I stopped there one Saturday morning to take this picture. For other Watery Wednesday photos, please visit: http://waterywednesday.blogspot.com/

Empty building: Where did they go?

I was shocked the other day to drive by this office building near Trader Joe's only to REALLY take a look at it and see that three offices were no longer there! Where did they go? More signs of the times. Very sad. I walked around this beautiful, empty building. What stories could it tell?

Scenic Sunday January 25, 2009

Scenic Sunday/January 25, 2009: That's a shot of Mt. San Jacinto taken from Shadow Ridge Resort in early morning light. You can still see the snow on the top of the mountain. It was a slightly cloudy morning, but I thought the sunlight on the mountain was quite pretty. For other Scenic Sunday photos, please visit:

Longhorns! Camera Critters for January 21, 2009

Did you know there are longhorns up in our mountains? Well, I didn't! And, there sure are! Just look at them! Hubby and I discovered this herd as we were out for a Sunday drive, up by Cahuilla Mountain. Aren't they beautiful? I was a bit hesitant to get out of my cozy, comfy car to take a few photos and their horns were VVVVEEEEERRRRRRYYYYYY long, but they were actually curious and friendly! I hope to see them again!

These pretty flowers were in the Vons parking lot on El Paseo and Highway 111. Aren't they cute? I love snapdragons!

Visitor center and Cuistot restaurant

Sunday morning I awoke early and went to the Palm Desert visitor center. Cuistot restaurant is also nearby, so I strolled along the pathways. It was very pretty indeed! Lots of water fountains were there and there was a beautiful blue rock pathway. It was very relaxing. There was a half moon above and it was a warm Southern California desert morning. People were out walking...a good way to start the day! Enjoy the photos.

Palm Desert park 011709

I stopped at the park after work one afternoon. Quite a few people were there and many were feeding the ducks. It's hard not to...even with the "Do not feed the ducks" signs! They come right up to you looking for a handout. The park is a great place to visit!

Welcome again!
